THE MOVE RETREAT
15-21 August
The Move Retreat is a six-night Bikram Yoga retreat at Tranquil Point Homestead, set in the wild, expansive landscape of Southern Tasmania. As the season shifts, this is an invitation to reawaken — to move, breathe deeply, and build gentle momentum. Daily Bikram Yoga is balanced with time outdoors and vibrant, nourishing meals designed to energise and restore.
Strengthen the body, clear the mind, and reconnect through movement and fresh seasonal food shared in good company. Surrounded by water and living bushland, each day flows with renewed energy, care and intention.
Open to all levels — whether you come to begin, deepen your practice, reconnect, or step forward with clarity.
RETREAT PACKAGE
Our Spring Retreat offers time and space to shed weight of the everyday, deepen your yoga practice and gently restore balance. Between classes, we’ll explore the natural wilderness surrounding Tranquil Point Homestead — from gentle hikes across the land to slow afternoons unwinding in the homestead.
Wake to the sun rising over the Huon River, and move through days thoughtfully designed to free you from responsibility. Yoga, nourishing meals, bushwalks, restorative downtime, massages and simple pleasures shape the rhythm of each day.
Mornings begin with Bikram Yoga, followed by a posture clinic to refine and deepen your practice. A wholesome, generous brunch awaits afterwards — refuelling you for an afternoon of adventure or rest. Optional activities invite you to experience the beauty of the region: bushwalking, restorative swims, fishing, or an in-house massage.
As evening falls, we gather for dinner beneath the trees or beside the fire, sharing fresh, seasonal food — a nourishing and memorable close to each day.
THE YOGA
Yoga Retreats at Tranquil Point Homestead welcome everyone, regardless of experience. They are designed to offer a calm and supportive space to practise Bikram Yoga, away from the pace and distractions of everyday life.
With time and space to focus on your practice, the retreat invites you to deepen your understanding of the Bikram Yoga postures while experiencing the physical and mental benefits of regular classes. Whether you are new to the practice or have been practising for years, the program is designed to support you wherever you are on your yoga journey.
Daily Bikram Yoga classes form the heart of the retreat, complemented by posture clinics that explore technique, alignment and awareness in greater depth. These sessions create an opportunity to ask questions, refine your practice and develop confidence in the postures.
Throughout the retreat there will also be relaxed discussions and Q&A sessions exploring yoga philosophy, wellbeing and the ways in which yoga can support balance and clarity in everyday life.
THE HOMESTEAD
Stay at Tranquil Point Homestead, tucked quietly into the peaceful Huon Valley. Set on three acres and surrounded by water, it is a place to slow down, breathe deeply and listen to the natural rhythm of the land.
The point offers many serene places to sit and reflect, with sweeping views across the Huon River toward the distant Hartz Mountains.
The homestead itself is warm and welcoming, with six simple, light-filled guest rooms and a spacious lounge centred around a wood fire that gently warms the house on chilly evenings. The property operates simply and sustainably, supported by rainwater tanks and solar power.
Here, the quiet rituals of the land bring you back to the present. Beneath wide Tasmanian skies, space opens for the mind to soften, clarity to return, and renewal to unfold naturally.
NOURISHMENT
True nourishment supports the whole person — body, mind and spirit. Our meals are centred on simple, seasonal whole foods designed to restore energy and cultivate vitality. Alongside your yoga practice, nourishing food becomes part of the rhythm of the retreat — supporting balance, awareness and lasting wellbeing.
Our menu is intentionally plant-forward, abundant in organic ingredients chosen for their freshness and nutritional value. Meals are prepared without alcohol, dairy, soy, processed sugars, artificial sweeteners or gluten to support restoration and gentle detoxification. Optional additions, including organic eggs and responsibly sourced fish, allow flexibility while honouring the needs of our guests.
Each meal is an opportunity to slow down, savour and reconnect with how food makes you feel. Shared meals also create space for conversation, connection and community.
We are happy to accommodate most dietary requirements. Please let us know of any preferences or allergies when booking.

No. Bikram Yoga is accessible for everyone, regardless of age, flexibility or fitness level. At the retreat, our teachers guide each class with clear instructions and offer modifications when needed. Many first-time students find Bikram easier to follow than other styles because the sequence never changes - you know exactly what to expect each time you step on the mat.
Bikram Yoga is a therapeutic sequence of 26 postures and two breathing exercises, always practised in a heated room. The sequence works systematically through the entire body - improving strength, flexibility, balance and circulation. The consistency of the practice makes it easy to measure your progress, while the heat creates an environment for deeper physical and mental focus.
-
During the retreat you’ll take part in daily Bikram Yoga classes, plus posture workshops and Q&A sessions to refine your understanding of technique. This regular practice creates a rhythm that allows your body and mind to adapt quickly.
-
Yes. Bikram Yoga was designed as a healing practice. Many postures can be modified to suit individual needs and our teachers provide guidance on how to practise safely. We encourage guests to listen to their bodies, rest when needed and build confidence at their own pace. It’s not about achieving “perfect” postures, but about working within your range of motion to create strength and balance.
